Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Prayer through applications to the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can obtain my goal.
You who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances of my life you are with me.
I want in this short prayer to confirm once and again that I never want to be separated from you. Even in spite of all material illusions I wish to be with you in eternal glory.
Thank you for your mercy toward me and mine.

Say this prayer in 3 consecutive days. After 3 days the favor requested will be granted even if it appears difficult. Publish prayer without mentioning favor.

Hello,

So I made it through my first full week of culinary school. Saturday was just crazy we made 3 tarts in 5 hours. We also made some cookie dough that we will bake on Tuesday. I have the best partner in the world, Samantha. I was a bit off on Saturday and she just rolled with it. I think the sleep deprivation finally got to me. We really compliment each other well. Chef Cynthia said we will get switched up with another partner at some point (it will make us better chefs) that will be a sad day for me.
I have some pictures of the fruits of my labor :-)....these are not all the tarts I have made so far, but just the last ones I brought home.

Tarte Bourdaloue - Pear and Almond tart Bourdaloue style

Tarte Alsacienne - Alsatian Apple Tart

Tarte Aux Fruits - Fresh Fruit Tart (plum) with pastry cream

That's all for now.
Take care of U!

Today was Class #2. We were baking on the first day! Today we worked to finish the Apple Tart we started on Thursday. This is the very first tart I have ever made, and it looks pretty damn good I must say. I can't wait to taste it. I am worried that the crust won't be great because I may have over worked the dough. Oh well, I will find out on Tuesday.
We had the first of our Food Safety lectures today lead by Chef Tim. Chef Tim is hysterical, he made a boring but necessary and important topic entertaining and interesting.
Today I also learn the importance of prep. I got my recipes mixed up and when Chef Cynthia would call us over for instruction I kept losing my place. Even though I was early for class when things got going it was crazy and hard to keep the pace. I'll be better prepared on Tuesday.
That's all for now. Next pictures of my first culinary project!

Take care of U!

Hi All,

So let me start off by saying I am not a blogger. This is my first attempt. I thought it would be interesting to chronicle my attendance at the French Culinary Institute, Pastry Arts. For those of you who don't know me, let's just say I'm a girl who enjoys the sweeter things in life and thought the only way to enjoy the rest of this life was to explore my creative side in Pastry Arts.

Today was Orientation day, I was so excited, I couldn't get there fast enough. I was as restless as a kid the night before Christmas and did not get enough sleep last night. Needless to say I was dragging. Thank goodness I thought to grab some caffeine before the presentation actually started. The A/C was busted in the amphitheater and I would have fallen asleep for sure without the extra buzz to keep me going. Not to say the presentation was boring, it wasn't it was just ridiculously hot in NYC today.
We met just about everyone who works behind the scenes at the school, student services, deans, advisors etc. I am also really excited because there are students in my class from all over the world, Hong Kong, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to name a few countries, not to mention states across the union.
I won't bore you with any more details about the presentation, just know that they covered all the logistics and we are now well oriented and ready for our first day...which is Thursday.
Oh and I got my uniform (three uniforms to be exact) today. And just to show you how nerdy this would be pastry chef is, all 3 uniforms are washed and ready to go. I'm sure I'll have my locker bag packed before Wednesday night as well.
So for now I promise to be as interesting as possible and share pictures...they actually encourage us to bring along a camera for the journey and take photos of what we create.

Take care of U!
